FINIAT is the product of experience and necessity. Robert Bandy began building the early framework for what would one day become FINIAT in the wake of the 2008–09 financial crisis. At the time, he was working as a financial advisor and saw firsthand how even the most prepared professionals could be left at the mercy of extreme market volatility.
Determined to find a better way, Robert began developing proprietary algorithms designed to protect client portfolios and provide greater resilience through turbulent markets.
For years, these early models powered Robert’s private wealth management practice, helping clients navigate uncertainty with more confidence and discipline. But as the industry evolved, he recognized a much larger challenge on the horizon: technology, AI, and automation were rapidly reshaping wealth management. Advisors were increasingly at risk of losing ground to robo-advisors, low-cost platforms, and digital competitors.
Rather than viewing technology as a threat, Robert saw the opportunity to flip the script—to harness the power of AI, quantitative models, and intelligent automation to support advisors, not replace them.
What began as a personal solution to manage risk and market exposure became the foundation for FINIAT: a platform purpose-built to preserve and elevate the role of financial advisors in a rapidly changing industry.
Today, FINIAT is comprised of a team with diverse expertise spanning quantitative finance, algorithms, business law, software development, consulting, and investment banking.
